| Appointment of Dr. Stephanie Capshaw as Interim Program Director, Occupational Therapy Program |

Colleagues: I am happy to share the good news that Dr. Stephanie Capshaw has accepted an appointment as Interim Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Program, effective September 1, 2009.  She has been an assistant clinical professor in the Master of Occupational Therapy program at UTEP since 2005. During that time she has taught courses in pediatric occupational therapy and served as the program’s Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. Stephanie has been a pediatric occupational therapist for over 10 years, providing services in the public school systems, and pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings. She is a National Workshop Presenter for Handwriting Without Tears, a company founded by an occupational therapist. She holds specialty certificates in School-based Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration, and Handwriting. Her research interests include pediatric occupational therapy, international adoption health, and sensory integration.
